Frequently asked questions

Ordering and payment

How does working with Doypacked work?
It takes four steps. We send you a quote, you approve it, and we sign an agreement. You then ship your product and packaging to our workshop in Hasselt, and we pack it for you.
How much does it cost?
The price depends on your quantity, the number of different products (SKUs) and the services you add, such as labelling or batch coding. For a quick number, use our instant quote calculator: it gives you one total for your whole order. For an exact quote, send us a message.
What is your minimum order quantity?
We don't work with a strict minimum. Our quote calculator starts at 100 units, and if you'd like to test with less, a proof of concept is the place to start.
Can I run a proof of concept (POC) first?
Yes. A proof of concept costs €80 and lets you test how your product packs before you commit to a full run.
Can I start with a very small pilot batch?
Yes, starting with a tiny amount is no problem. You can run it as a proof of concept (€80) to see the result before you place a full order.
How long does repacking take?
Plan on about one week. Depending on our current workload, we usually get started as soon as your shipment arrives.
What are your payment terms?
50% is due when the agreement is signed, and the remaining 50% once the packing is done. The full amount must be paid before your goods are returned to you.

What we pack

What kind of products do you pack?
Dry powders and granules, from 5 g to 1,000 g per unit, such as tea, cocoa or coffee powder, flours and chili powder.
Can you pack products that contain allergens?
Yes. Just tell us which allergens your product contains when you request a quote, so we can plan the run properly.
Can you pack non-food products?
No, we only pack food products.
Can you pack pet food?
No, we don't pack pet food.

Packaging and containers

Which doypacks can you fill?
Any doypack, as long as it closes with a heat seal.
Do you sell doypacks?
No. We fill the packaging you supply, but we don't sell doypacks ourselves.
Can you recommend a doypack supplier?
Yes. Two companies we can point you to are Packiro and Doypacky.eu.
Can you print on doypacks or make custom pouches?
Yes, our partners take care of it. We don't print on pouches ourselves, but we work with partners who do. Send us your design and the quantity you need, and we'll take it from there.
Can you close tin cans?
Yes, but only the tin cans we sell ourselves. We can only seam our own cans.
Can I buy matcha tin cans from you?
Yes. We sell tin cans for matcha, and because we can seam our own cans, we can fill and close them for you.
Can you repack my food into my own containers?
Yes. Send us your containers together with your product and we'll fill them. The only exception is tin cans: we can only seam the ones we sell.
Can you place packs into secondary packaging, and can you supply it?
Yes to both. We can pack your finished units into boxes, and we can provide the boxes as well.

Labelling, coding and mixing

Can you apply labels?
Yes, on doypacks and on round containers such as tin cans. This is an application service: you supply the labels and we put them on. Read more about our labelling service.
Can you help me with the mandatory information on labels?
Labels are the customer's responsibility. We apply them, but we can't write or check the legal information on them, so please make sure your labels meet the requirements of the market where you sell.
Can you print batch numbers and best-before dates?
Yes. We can add a date and batch code to your packs.
Can you blend or mix?
Yes. We can blend dry powders and granules before packing. See our mixing and blending service.
Can you grind, mill, roast or sieve?
No. We pack and blend products as they arrive, we don't process them. Grinding, milling, roasting or sieving needs to happen before the product reaches us.

Quality and certificates

Which certifications do you hold?
We hold an organic certification (from Certisys) and an AFSCA/FAVV authorisation to provide food-related services. You can check our AFSCA/FAVV authorisation in the official directory using the VAT number at the bottom of this page.
Can you pack organic food?
Yes. We are certified to handle organic food, so we can pack organic products and keep them fully traceable.
Do you check the weight of your packs?
Yes, weight checks are part of our packing process.

Shipping, import and storage

Can I ship my goods to you from outside the EU?
Not directly. Goods have to clear customs in the country where you hold a VAT and EORI number, because Doypacked cannot act as the importer of record. Once they have cleared customs, you can send them to us.
Can my food or packaging supplier ship straight to you?
Yes, as long as the supplier is located in the EU.
Can you ship finished goods directly to my customers?
We ship your whole repacked order in one go, to any address you choose. We don't split it into individual shipments.
Can you act as a 3PL?
No. We don't ship goods unit by unit, so we can't act as a third-party logistics (3PL) provider.
Do you do e-commerce fulfilment?
No. Since we don't ship individual units, we don't offer e-commerce fulfilment.
Can you store my goods?
Yes, we can store your goods.
Can you store my empty packaging between runs?
Yes. You can leave your packaging with us until the next time you send food for repacking.
Can you source or import products for me?
No. We pack what you deliver to us. Sourcing and importing are not services we offer.
